This is a massive, dark chocolate coated berries red. Super smooth for such a big wine. Needs the heartiest of fare to sample it at its very, very best.
It's more and more common to find red and white grapes blended together in top Australian reds. The idea being to take some of the 'edges' of the more robust red varieties. It's extremely effective in this McLaren Vale blockbuster which has oodles of rich, chocolate coated black fruits and pertinent yet mellow tannins. Super!
