This wine has been aged in oak for a year and as you'd be right to expect there's a spicy, vanilla character to this dark-fruited red from Sicily.
Nero d'avola is an indigenous Italian grape variety which produces robust yet soft wines, with healthy portions of dark fruits. Oak-ageing gives the wine that additional bit of suppleness. An excellent opportunity to try something other than merlot and cabernet!
